External expertise for your textile production.

We bring 20 years of experience with specialty textiles to your project—without interfering with your production.

Santextil Consulting is the consulting division of Santextil Consulting GmbH. We cater exclusively to companies that assemble or manufacture specialty textile products themselves—and who want to rely on an experienced external partner to provide technical support without interfering with their production.

Who We Are

Since 2005, Santextil has been working with specialty textiles for applications that go beyond the standard: fire-resistant, cut- and puncture-resistant, waterproof, bulletproof, bacteria-resistant, gas-tight, antimagnetic, and suitable for camouflage. This practical experience, built up over more than two decades, has resulted in specialized expertise that we now offer to companies as a consulting service.

Who Consulting Is Intended For

  • Manufacturers and garment makers who want to expand their product lines to include specialty textiles
  • Companies with their own textile production facilities that are tapping into a new field of application
  • Brands developing a specialty product for a specific industry (firefighting, security, industrial, outdoor)
  • Procurement departments with in-house manufacturing that require external expertise in standards and materials

What Sets Us Apart from Other Consultants

We do not represent any specific material, supplier, or brand.

Our recommendation is based solely on your requirements.

This is not a given. Many textile consulting services are closely tied to specific manufacturers, distribution partners, or brand partnerships—often without this being made transparent. We deliberately take a different approach: Our recommendations are based on your requirements, not on any underlying sales relationship.

In practice, this means: If three materials are suitable for your application, you’ll receive information on all three—including their strengths, weaknesses, and realistic price ranges. Which one you choose is entirely up to you. We don’t stand to gain from any of them.

We don’t provide consulting on textiles in general—we focus on the specialized applications in which we’ve been working ourselves for 20 years.

A textile consulting firm that claims to cover “everything” may offer basic knowledge in many fields—but rarely the depth required by a truly specialized project. Our expertise is deliberately narrowly defined: protective textiles, ballistic applications, camouflage, technical membranes, and specialty fabrics for sensitive industries. If there’s something we don’t know, we’ll tell you.

In practice, this means: If you come to us with a request for cut-resistant protective clothing, we don’t first have to research which materials are generally suitable, which standards are relevant, which suppliers are known, and where the typical bottlenecks lie. We’ve walked through this process dozens of times over the past two decades.

Because we manufacture and deliver specialty textile products ourselves in our Operations division, we understand the real bottlenecks in your production process—not just the theory.

Many consulting projects fail not because of a lack of material knowledge, but because of a lack of understanding of the production process. A material that looks perfect on the data sheet can turn into a disaster during manufacturing—for example, because it can’t withstand certain sewing techniques, because it shifts during processing, or because a finish isn’t durable enough to withstand industrial laundering. We know these issues because we deal with them every day in our own manufacturing facility.

In practice, this means: Our recommendations are practical and actionable. You won’t get a nice-sounding theory that doesn’t work in your production environment, but rather suggestions that we’ve double-checked for production feasibility—with the perspective of someone who knows firsthand where the bottlenecks lie in a real-world manufacturing setting.

Many of our consulting projects involve sensitive industries. For us, confidentiality is not an added feature, but a fundamental requirement.

Anyone who works for government agencies, security services, military-related clients, or special forces knows the requirements: discretion regarding clients, content, and specifications. We’ve designed our internal processes accordingly—and we’ve been doing so for quite some time.

In practice, this means that non-disclosure agreements are standard in this field and are signed before a project begins. Projects in sensitive areas do not appear in any public references, neither by name nor in anonymized form. If you have a project with special confidentiality requirements, you’ve come to the right place.
